The best advice that I can give about finding the right therapist is that you, the client, are in control of this decision, even during a time when it might feel as if you don’t have control over much in your life. In fact, therapy is the one place designated for you, and you alone. Where concerns about what others (including the therapist) may be thinking and feeling, or perceived expectations about who and what you should be are left outside the room.

In terms of my background, I’ve always considered myself the observer in life. More concerned about why we act, think or feel in a particular way rather than focus on what I consider the ‘peripheral’ details. In other words, I believe it’s crucial to find ways to maneuver through all of the protective layers that we have built up over time in order to get to the core of what is causing our distress or obstacle. I believe this makes for a more effective or meaningful therapeutic experience and avoids the frustration of sitting still. Also, therapy should never be a scenario where the therapist dictates information or advice, and so, working with me means that you will be part of a collaborative relationship that involves utilizing your strengths while being guided by my expertise.

My specialties include working with individuals, couples or families who are involved in the sports or entertainment field and the pressures that exist with these types of professions. This includes utilizing psychological and therapeutic elements to either improve overall performance or to better understand the relationship of how your personality fits the within the profession.

Besides these specialized areas, I also work with those who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, struggles with interpersonal relationships or working through life and career transitions.

Brad holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage, Family Therapy, from Pepperdine University. He has over 7 years of experience in providing therapeutic services for individuals, couples and families, along with specialized training in crisis intervention for people at risk of suicide.
