Therapy For Anxiety & Depression

Pacific Psychotherapy Associates / Therapy For Anxiety & Depression

Therapy For Anxiety & Depression

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, 40 million adults in the US struggle with an anxiety disorder.  If you are dealing with constant worry, fear of what will happen in the future or continued rumination (non-stop thinking), social anxiety, wanting to isolate – you may be living with an anxiety disorder.  Anxiety is a feeling that can impact the body as well.  Sweating, dry mouth, panic attacks, losing sleep or your appetite can compound struggles with anxiety.

At Pacific Psychotherapy Associates, we provide therapy for anxiety and depression, assessing how the anxiety is impacting your life, career, and relationships.  Begin taking steps towards empowering yourself.  If you would like to stop the internal struggle of worry and anxiety, our therapists can help you gain control of your thoughts and work towards building the life you would like.

Currently, over 16 million Americans struggle with symptoms of depression.  Death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job, loss of a relationship, career stress or wishing for a

healthy relationship can all contribute to feelings of sadness and loneliness.  Other times, depression can develop in a quiet way without a triggering event – this is an organic, biological form of depression.  While Major Depressive Disorder is one form of depression, there are other kinds of depression that can impact your mental health in dramatic ways.  Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (previously called PMS), as well as Post-Partum Depression, are very specific forms of depression related to women.

Talk therapy, often in tandem with medication, can be very effective in treating depression.  With our therapists, we can assess your situation and we can help guide you towards the right treatment for you.  Utilizing a variety of therapeutic orientations, we will work together to better understand the origins of your depression and find ways to help you begin to feel more in touch with your life, relationships and goals.  If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, it is common to suffer symptoms of both.  Our therapists at Pacific Psychotherapy can help you find a path towards a better quality of life.
